Phase 1: Hardware Inspection & Cleaning >

Backup user data (if necessary, check with Operations/Greg)
Remove laptop back panel (Note: track screw pattern!)
Physically check RAM sticks (ensure proper seating & capacity)
Inspect/clean cooling fan and heatsink (use compressed air)
Verify storage drive type and status (SSD preferred)
Tighten all internal and external screws (ensure structural integrity)
Replace back panel & test power-on

Phase 2: Operating System (OS) Install >

Boot from Windows Installation USB Drive
Format and partition the primary drive (clean install)
Complete fresh Windows installation (use standard naming convention)
Connect to New Horizons Wi-Fi/Network
Run Windows Update until no critical updates remain
Install all necessary device drivers (check manufacturer's site)

Phase 3: Core Software & Final Check >

Install Standard Security Suite (Antivirus/Firewall)
Install Microsoft Office Suite (Activate license)
Install specialized programs (e.g., Eastlink/Cogeco/Xplore apps)
Set up standard user profile and network shares
Test all peripherals (Webcam, Mic, USB ports, Wi-Fi/Ethernet)
Final sign-off by a second tech (double-check required steps)
